The Umrah Checklist
Most Umrah problems are preventable with a list. This one covers documents, the app setup that has to happen before you fly, what to pack for ihram and the heat, money and connectivity, and what to do in the first day so the trip starts calmly.

- Notify your bank of travel.
The first 24 hours
- Immigration and luggage, then the transfer to your hotel.
- Rest briefly, hydrate, and confirm the Haram route.
- Perform Umrah at a calm time if possible, often late night.

A note: this guide is general information for planning. For religious rulings, follow a qualified scholar and your group's guide. For official visa, permit and booking steps, the Nusuk platform (nusuk.sa) is the authority.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be in ihram before landing in Jeddah?
If you are travelling directly to Makkah, you must enter ihram before crossing the miqat, which for most flights means before landing. Airlines usually announce it.
Can I carry medication into Saudi Arabia?
Yes, with a prescription; some controlled medicines need prior approval.
What should women pack?
Modest, loose clothing in breathable fabric, comfortable footwear, and a light layer for cold air conditioning.
Is a guided app worth it?
For first-timers, yes. It removes uncertainty about the steps and duas at each point.
