Umrah from Singapore
What pilgrims leaving from Singapore need to know: the flight, the visa route for Singaporeans, the season and a realistic budget.
Flying from Singapore
Singapore's Muslim community is a well-organised minority, and Umrah travel here is generally coordinated through mosques (mosque-linked Umrah packages, often called Umrah 'ziarah' trips, are common) and licensed local travel agencies. Changi Airport does not have a consistent scheduled nonstop route to Jeddah or Madinah, so most pilgrims connect through Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, or a Gulf hub such as Doha or Dubai, and it's worth checking current options directly since capacity shifts seasonally. Singapore's small, tightly regulated travel industry means operator standards are generally high, and checking that an agency is a registered travel agent with Singapore's authorities is a reasonable baseline. The Singapore dollar is used locally; cards are accepted almost everywhere. Given Singapore's efficient transit hub status, connection times through the city itself are rarely the bottleneck; the longer leg is usually the routing onward from wherever you connect internationally.
Umrah visa for Singaporeans
Singaporean passport holders are on Saudi Arabia's eVisa list, so most Singaporeans can apply directly through Nusuk or Visit Saudi rather than use an agent. The eVisa is multiple-entry, valid a year, covers Umrah as well as tourism, and allows up to 90 days per entry. It must still be used to enter within 30 days of issue, and hotel and transport now have to be booked inside Nusuk before it is issued. For the 1448 AH Umrah season (31 May 2026 to 7 Apr 2027), book early, since rooms and Rawdah or Mataf permit slots fill fast around Ramadan. Singaporeans who prefer a fully organised trip can still book the same journey through a licensed Umrah company instead.

When to go
Ramadan carries the greatest reward and the greatest crowds and prices; the weeks after Hajj (late Dhul Hijjah into Muharram) and the winter months (November to February) are cooler and quieter. The 1448 AH season runs from 31 May 2026 to 7 April 2027 for arrivals and departures. See the best time to perform Umrah.
What it costs from Singapore
Your biggest variables are the flight from SIN, the hotel's distance from the Haram, and the season. Use the cost calculator for a range in SGD, then compare operator quotes line by line: visa, flights, hotel nights and category, transfers, and Makkah, Madinah transport.
How much is Umrah from Singapore?
There is no single price, because the same trip can cost twice as much in Ramadan or the June and December school holidays as in a quiet month. From Singapore the cost is made up of the flight (a nonstop Saudia service to Jeddah is listed, and one-stop fares through Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Doha or Dubai are often cheaper), the hotel nights in Makkah and Madinah (distance from the Haram is the biggest lever, then how many share a room), ground transport, the visa and insurance, and the agency's service fee if you buy a package. Mosque-linked "ziarah" packages are common in Singapore and usually bundle all of this with a guide. To compare quotes fairly, ask each agency for the hotel names and walking times, the number of nights in each city, what meals are included and whether the Nusuk booking reference will be in your name, then check the agency holds a valid Singapore Tourism Board travel agent licence. Use the cost calculator for a planning range and the packages guide for the comparison checklist.
Umrah visa for Singaporeans, in brief
Singapore is on the Saudi eVisa list, so you can apply online yourself on visa.visitsaudi.com or in Nusuk, pay the fee and insurance shown on the portal, and perform Umrah on the eVisa outside the Hajj season. The visa is issued only against a Nusuk hotel and transport booking, must be used to enter within 30 days of issue, and you book the Umrah permit (and a Rawdah slot for Madinah) in the Nusuk app before you land. The MenACWY meningococcal vaccine must be at least 10 days old when you fly. Full steps, health rules and embassy details are on the Singaporean passport page.
Before you book
- Check that the operator is contracted through Nusuk Masar (ask for their Saudi partner's name).
- Confirm the hotel name and distance, not just "near Haram".
- Read how to avoid Umrah scams and how to choose an operator.
- Install the offline companion before you fly.
