Umrah from Quetta
What pilgrims leaving from Quetta need to know: the flight, the visa route for Pakistanis, the season and a realistic budget.
Flying from Quetta
Quetta pilgrims generally connect through Karachi, since Quetta International Airport has limited long-haul international capacity and no regular nonstop service to Jeddah or Madinah. Balochistan's more limited flight infrastructure means the domestic leg deserves extra planning, particularly given occasional weather-related disruptions and a smaller schedule of flights than in Punjab or Sindh, so book with realistic connection buffers and confirm timings close to departure. The local Umrah travel trade in Quetta is smaller than in Pakistan's larger cities, but agents here are experienced with routing pilgrims through Karachi and can usually arrange the full itinerary including onward visa and hotel booking. The Pakistani rupee is standard for local spending. As with the rest of the country, only use operators registered under the official Hajj and Umrah scheme, and given Quetta's distance from Pakistan's major hubs, allow an extra day of buffer around your international departure if your schedule permits it.
Umrah visa for Pakistanis
Pakistan is not on Saudi Arabia's eVisa list, so Pakistanis normally cannot self-apply online for Umrah. The route is a licensed Umrah company, or an external agent contracted through Nusuk Masar, which books the visa with an approved hotel and transport package as one file, not a visa alone. It must be used within 30 days of issue, so confirm dates with the operator first. Many Pakistanis abroad in the Gulf instead perform Hajj and Umrah through their country of residence rather than Pakistan. Holders of a valid, used US, UK or Schengen visa, or GCC residents, may instead qualify for the eVisa or visa-on-arrival route, so ask the operator to check. For the 1448 AH Umrah season (31 May 2026 to 7 Apr 2027), start several weeks ahead, since checks move faster the earlier you begin.

When to go
Ramadan carries the greatest reward and the greatest crowds and prices; the weeks after Hajj (late Dhul Hijjah into Muharram) and the winter months (November to February) are cooler and quieter. The 1448 AH season runs from 31 May 2026 to 7 April 2027 for arrivals and departures. See the best time to perform Umrah.
